For those who don’t know, Dr. Amy Acton (Democratic nominee for Ohio governor) survived horrendous abuse and neglect as a child.
Acton and her younger brother endured years of unsafe living conditions with their mother, including an unfinished basement and even a winter spent in a tent.
The children were finally removed from their mother’s custody in 1978, after a grand jury indicted their mother’s husband for repeatedly raping 12 year-old Amy.
Sickeningly, Acton’s mother sided with her husband over her own daughter. She helped him flee the state to avoid conviction, and stayed with him until he died a fugitive in 2004.
She and Amy (Acton) have not had contact for the past 48 years.
It’s truly impressive that Amy Acton grew up to become a medical doctor and Ohio’s Health Director.
This is not just a story. It is documented. There are court records.
Dr. Acton has spoken publicly for years about these horrific experiences, and her brother confirms everything she’s said.
You need to know these facts, because it’s the only way to grasp the demonic actions of Vivek Ramaswamy (Republican nominee for Ohio governor).
On Tuesday night, Vivek’s team released a video featuring Amy Acton’s elderly mother. She calls her daughter a “liar” and urges Ohioans not to support her.
National MAGA “influencers” jumped all over it. Within hours, the video and posts promoting it had millions of views.
But the backlash was fast and intense. The conservative outlet “National Review” quickly produced documents proving that Acton’s mother is lying. Then Acton’s younger brother spoke publicly on camera and confirmed his sister’s story.
Suddenly, MAGA influencers were walking back their excitement over the video. Some deleted their earlier posts. Some even apologized. Media pundits started discussing the massive miscalculation Vivek’s team had made by releasing such a disgusting video without doing basic research.
Vivek’s team hadn’t included a “paid for by” disclaimer on the video, so no one knew who had filmed it (at first). MAGA talking heads started using their classic “this ad is terrible, but it didn’t come from our candidate” messaging.
But then Vivek doubled down.
Vivek Ramaswamy himself went on camera and declared that his team had made the ad, AND they plan to spend at least $4 million dollars to air it statewide.
There are not words to express how vile this is.
Vivek is openly supporting a documented pedophile.
Vivek is paying to put a documented pedophile protector on TV to lie about her own child.
Vivek is knowingly forcing his opponent, her brother, and countless other Ohioans to relive childhood trauma and sexual abuse.
He is doing all of this KNOWING that his ad is EASILY disproven by anyone who bothers to do any research.
He’s hoping two weeks isn’t enough time for the facts to spread.
I need to you spread the facts.
I need you to make sure every person in your life knows that Vivek’s ad is an evil, shameful lie.
